A SoSound Music Player Or A So-So App?

You have a choice when playing music and creating the right vibe at your business. A SoSound music player or a so-so app. For many reasons, we think you’re much better off with our proprietary players including our SoSound Touchscreen and SoSound Mini. We know, we know...you expect us to say that anyway. But please, hear us out.

There are many advantages to using our Kiwi-built players and CMS instead of a device like a phone or a tablet. Once a device like that is in the mix, staff can easily access their own playlists and they’re usually completely off-brand. Not good. With a SoSound player on the other hand, it’s your brand and nothing but your brand, thanks to our music playlist curator.

Our SoSound systems are specifically used as background music players. They haven’t happened overnight. We have put a lot of time, thought and testing into making them work, and sound, just right. Once we had a working prototype, we tested the player with a few retailers and restauranteurs and listened to their likes and dislikes. We discovered that many of them wanted as little staff involvement as possible, as this leaves their employees to do work they weren’t employed to do. No sweat, we could make that happen through our SoSound Mini which, as you’ll soon read about, is a “set and forget” solution.

In the back end, we created a scheduling system that can be adapted to each venue with the ability to change playlists throughout the course of a ‘normal’ day. But if a day was not ‘normal’ and felt different, we wanted the staff to be able to bring the mood up or down. So we created the ‘mood’ function for our SoSound Touchscreen player, allowing staff to easily change the atmosphere depending on what was happening in the venue.

So, what are the main differences between the SoSound Touchscreen and SoSound Mini players? The SoSound Touchscreen has more functions. It allows you to:

- manually change the mood between multiple playlists

- see the track name

- skip tracks

On the other hand, the SoSound Mini has no touchscreen and plays your background music playlists automatically according to your schedule. This is perfect if you don’t need to change the music. It’s the “set and forget” solution we mentioned earlier.

What the two systems have in common is yet another thing that makes our players better than any app on any device; all the music is cached onboard our players. They only use the internet to update, so in the case of a bad connection or internet failure, our players will keep on bringing the music and setting the mood. Our players also connect via a universal 3.5 jack, so they can integrate into most systems.

Getting back to that choice - a SoSound player or a so-so app? If you agree with us that our player is the better way to play, contact us and let’s talk about bringing our music for business.
